At times, you may want to refer to the historical updates on goals during performance discussions.
The History section in the Edit panel of a goal allows users to track and review changes made to the goal over time, keeps a track of the change in progress of the goal over time, as well as the discussion that has happened on the goal in the form of comments.
To navigate to the History section,
Step 1: On the top navigation bar, hover over Performance, and select Goals from the drop down.
Step 2: You will land on the My Goals tab. Select the goal for which you need to check activity history.
The Edit Goal panel will open up.
Step 3: Select History from the side navigation pane.
The card is divided into 2 sections:
Progress graph
You can see a graph that shows the progress made over time in the goal by showing a history of check-ins, along with the value expected for that particular date of check-in, which thus, helps you visualize the ideal value of progress that ensures that the goal is achieved by the selected due date.
The timeline is populated on the horizontal axis, whereas the vertical axis carries plots of progress
There are two lines as part of the graph:
a. The expected trajectory of progress which shows how the ideal progress should increase over time
b. The actual check-in plotted. Each check-in gets plotted on this line and appears as a dot. When you hover over the dot you can see : the date of check-in, the actual value checked in, the expected value and the percentage of progress
Activities
You can now see a list of the most recent activity on the goal below the graph.
Activities can include:
- Comments on the goal
- Changes in the Status or Progress of the goal
- Addition or deletion of owners of the goal
- Changing the parent alignment of the goal
- Changing the tracking object of the goal (such as start/target values, tracking type etc.)
In order to see more activity, click on the View full history button at the bottom of the card.
This shows the entire history of activity on the goal in the extended side panel.
Thus, the History section helps you gain a historical view of the activity and check-ins on a goal, driving transparency in performance discussions.
