A Manager reviewing goal progress is crucial as it allows them to provide guidance, support, and feedback to ensure goal alignment, monitor performance, identify potential challenges or roadblocks, and make informed decisions to drive goal achievement and overall team success.
As a Manager, you can review goal progress by objective or by individual on Mesh.
Reviewing progress by goal
To review goal progress by goal;
Step 1: Select Goals under the Performance section on the Homepage.
Step 2: As a Manager, you would like to review goals pertaining to your team. Click on My Team to navigate to your team’s goals.
Step 3: Select the Insights tab.
Step 4: Click Group By and select Goals from the drop-down.
Step 5: Now if we take any objective, we can see the child objectives and key results (goal tree) below them down to the very last goal, its owners and finally the total progress for each of them.
Step 6: Clicking on any goal (objective or key result) allows you to view the goal in detail as the "Edit Panel" opens up. Thus, you can also use this space to check in key results of your team since the "Edit Key Result Panel" opens on clicking on a key result.
Reviewing progress by Individual
To review goal progress by Individual;
Step 1: Select Goals under the Performance section on the Homepage.
Step 2: Click on My Team to navigate to your team’s goals.
Step 3: Select the Insights tab.
Step 4: Click Group By and select Individual from the drop down
Step 5: Now you can see the insights regarding goals, but grouped by the individuals themselves.
Above if we take the example of Jade, we see that they are aligned and working on 7 goals, the number of check-ins they've done is 5 and the date of that last check-in is 3 August, highlighting how long ago the latest check-in was done. Lastly, you also see the average progress of the individual aggregating all their goals.
Step 6: Clicking on any individual allows you to view the goals owned by that particular individual in detail in a tabular format. You can gain information on the owner, collaborators, progress, timeline etc. for the goal.
Step 7: Click on the goal to view it in more detail and edit it/check in the progress for the individual (recommended only when you are directly managing the individual).
Thus, you can use Mesh to perform regular goal reviews to help maintain accountability, keep goals on track, and enable timely adjustments, ultimately enhancing productivity, performance, and organisational outcomes.
