Using Tags in goal setting allows for efficient categorisation, organisation, and easy retrieval of goals based on specific themes, projects, or attributes.
You can enable tags in Mesh
while creating a goal.
To use tags:
Step 1: Select the Goals module from the Performance tab on the homepage
Step 2: Click on the Add New button.
Step 3: In the dropdown that opens, click on New objective.
The Add Objective screen will open as a side panel.
Step 4: Inside the "Add Additional Info" section, scroll down to the Tags field to add tags. Any existing tags for the objective would also be found within this section.
Adding an already-created tag
Step 1: To add a tag, click on the blank beside the field name. You will be able to see a list of existing tags that are defined for your workspace, and the option to add a new tag or edit an existing tag.
Step 2: Select the tag you wish to add to the objective from the list of tags. You can also select multiple tags. The selected tags would appear below the Search box.
Step 3: Click on the Apply button to add the tags to the objective. These would be reflected in front of the Tags field in the Add Objective Screen.
Creating a new tag
Note: Only Goal Admins can create new tags.
Step 1: To create a new tag, click on the blank beside the field name. You will be able to see a list of existing tags that are defined for your workspace, and the option to add a new tag or edit an existing tag.
Step 2: Click on the + Add/Edit tag button. An extended side panel will open up, that shows the list of tags that are already defined for the workspace. Click on the + Add/Edit tags button.
Step 3: Define the tag that you wish to add and click on the Tick-mark to add it to the list of defined tags. For instance, in the example below, “Core team objective” is a new tag that is added to the workspace.
Step 4: Close the "Add/Edit Tags" screen. You can now find your newly created tag in the list whenever you wish to add a tag to your objective.
Editing/Deleting an existing tag
Note: Only Goal Admins can edit or delete existing tags.
To edit/delete an already defined tag,
Step 1: Click on the blank beside the field name Tags. You will be able to see a list of existing tags that are defined for your workspace, and the option to add a new tag or edit an existing tag.
Step 2: Click on the + Add/Edit tag button.
Step 3: To edit an already added tag, click on the particular tag that you wish to edit. Edit the name of the tag and click on the Tick Mark. In case you wish to revert your changes, click on the Cross icon.
For instance, in the example below, the tag “100x OKR” is edited and changed to “10x OKR”.
Note: When you edit a tag, it changes it everywhere the tag is used.
Likewise, to delete a particular tag, click on the Delete icon towards the extreme right. You would be shown a warning message that deleting a particular tag would delete it from everywhere the tag is used.
Click on the Delete button.
The tag would be deleted.
Similar to objectives, tags can be applied to key results as well.
Thus, tags provide a flexible and customisable way to group and filter goals, enhancing clarity, collaboration, and overall goal management effectiveness.
