The Group by Goals setting in Goal Insights allows you to effortlessly gain a holistic view of goal progress, allowing you to track team alignment, identify potential bottlenecks, and celebrate collective achievements.
This is similar to the Individual View in Group by Individuals, but this view pertains to your team/organisation tree/company as a whole.
The top left corner of the screen allows you to change the Time frame in which the goals in the table/graph would be displayed.
The Insights screen is divided into two sections:
Performance Chart
For an overview of insights on your company goals, you can view the “Performance Chart” which shows the "Average Progress (in %)" on the X-Axis and the "Count of Goals" having a certain range of progress % on the Y-Axis.
Hover over the column in any graph to find the detailed title of the objective and the value of progress made against it.
You can also choose to download the graph as a PNG image by selecting the Download icon on the top right portion of the graph.
Table
The lower portion of the screen is occupied by a table that carries the following columns:
- Goals
The Goal (Objective or Key Result) Title, along with an icon that displays the level at which it is defined.Note: Depending on your Goal-Setting Methodology, you may have different settings and nomenclature for objectives and key results. You can choose to view the Child Goals belonging to a particular Goal by clicking on the Expand icon before a particular goal name.

-
ProgressThe Progress made on the goal. This value would be computed as follows:
Goal | Type of tracking | Calculation method |
---|---|---|
Goal (Objective or Key Result) | Dependent | Progress of the goal is the average (arithmetic mean) of the progress made across its child goals (objectives or key results) Thus, progress for such a goal cannot be directly checked-in |
Independent | Progress of the goal is the value entered while checking in the goal |
- Child Key Result Status
The status of all the child key results of the goal is depicted in the form of a chart. You can hover on the chart to read to see the number of child key results corresponding to each status value. The status of a goal can be either “In-Progress” or “Closed”, with actual value being any of the following sub-options :
-
-
- In-Progress
- On-Track
- Off-Track
- At-Risk
- Closed
- Achieved
- Not Achieved
- Dropped
-
In case there is no status, the value for the status field is NA.
Note: Progress of goals that are marked with status as “Closed” is not counted towards progress calculations.
- Tags
Using tags in goal setting allows for efficient categorisation, organisation, and easy retrieval of goals based on specific themes, projects, or attributes. Tags corresponding to each goal would be displayed in the Tags column. You can use the Columns button towards the top right corner of the table to configure the visibility of the columns. It also houses additional columns, viz. Start Date and End Date.
- Start Date This is the Start Date of the goal in question, generally being the date from which the employee (or team) has started working on the goal.
- End Date This is the End Date of the goal in question, generally being the target date by which the goal is stipulated to be achieved.
You can click on any goal or on the View Details button housed within the Ellipsis menu corresponding to each goal to open the “Edit Goal” panel and make changes to the goal (if required and authorised to).
Other actions
We always try to make our Insights dashboard as actionable as possible, to provide users with the ability to take their core actions easily.
Search
You can use the search option to search across the table for individuals, a goal etc. in order to save your time in finding a specific entity.
Adding a new goal
As on other screens, you can always choose to add a new goal (objective or key result) from this screen as well, depending on your Goal-Setting Methodology and Access Control settings.
Controlling the view
At times, you may not want to track your cohort’s (team/organisation tree/company) goals on a granular level and mainly like to focus on the goals that influence your company’s strategy as a whole.
You can choose whether or not to see the Expanded View of goals using the button between the Add New button and Download icon.
Download
You can download your Insights in CSV format by clicking on the Download icon. This generates a report of your goals as a CSV so that you can edit/perform arithmetic operations on the same.
